Halloween Treats

We live in a building, and don’t expect many Trick or Treaters. There are a few kids in the building though. I decided to make some treats to put out at the door while we’re out Trick or Treating ourselves.  Kyle reminded me that you can’t really give out baked goods, but I figure that because I’m not really a stranger it should be ok. I figure the adults would like a sweet treat too!

I decided on some no bake cereal treats. Looked up a few recipes then made my own! All of the recipes called for white corn syrup, which I’m not really down with. I do love my Agave syrup, so I used that instead.

1 cup peanut butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup pretzels
1 cup sugar
1 cup agave syprup
2 1/2 cups cereal  ( I used honey bunches of oats)

Combine peanut butter, choc chips and pretzels in a glass or metal mixing bowl.
Heat sugar and syrup until sugar melts, then boil for one minute.
Add sugar mixture to chocolate mixture. Mix well, then add the cereal.
Drop by teaspoonful onto wax paper and let set.

I decorated them with some creepy eyes and bones and put them in skull and cross bones mini cupcake papers.

Sweet, delicious and the neighbours tried them too. When we got home from trick or treating 3 other apartments on our floor had treats at the door!!!
